1. Thomas FROOD died 15 Apr 1799 in Lochmaben Parish, Scotland. He married Janet CARRUTHERS 11 May 1773 in Lochmaben Parish, Scotland.

Thomas died when his daughter, Jane, was young. He was survived by his wife and seven children, four girls and three boys. Janet carried on the farm until her death. Their oldest son and youngest daughter never married.

John rented and lived on a farm, Cocketfield, in the Parish of Torthenwald. He traded horses. He met with tragedy when he went with horses to a fair in Carlisle, England. He had to cross the Solway, a branch of the sea. It could be forded when the tide was out. On his way home in the company of three men and a boy, all on horseback. They got caught in the tide. All were drowned but the boy who was taken to shore by his horse. John left a widow and three sons.

John FROOD and Agnes McMINE had three sons, one being: Thomas born in Lochmaben Parish, Dumfriesshire, Scotland 13 Jun 1805.
2. iv. Janet FROOD was born 4 Mar 1782 in Bridgemuir, a farm, Lochmaben Parish, Scotland, and died 01 Jan 1865 in Lochmaben, Scotland. She married Samuel McMINN, son of Samuel McMINN and Rebecca JOHNSTONE. He was born 22 Nov 1781 in Bushcraft, Troqueer, Dumfriesshire, Scotland, and died 06 Dec 1851. They are buried in Old Lochmaben Cemetery, Lochmaben, Dumfriesshire, Scotland.

        ii. Rebecca McMINE was born 25 Jul 1807, New Esbie, a farm, Lochmaben Parish, Scotland.

      6. iv. James McMINN was born 20 Aug 1811 in New Esbie, a farm, Lochmaben Parish, Scotland, and died 31 Aug 1893 in Lochmaben, Scotland. He married Mary SWAN 27 May 1834. She was born 1816, and died 18 Mar 1858 in Esbie Farm, Dumfriesshire, Scotland.

          14. viii. James Alexander McMINN was born circa 1850, and died 26 Oct 1916 in Lochmaben, Scotland. He married (1) Ann IMRIE 27 Nov 1865 in Dumfriesshire, Scotland. He married (2) Elizabeth THOMSON 1889 in Dumfiresshire, Scotland. James' family.
          15. ix. Robert McMINN was born circa 1853 in Lochmaben, Scotland. He married Jane TWEEDIE 1 Oct 1873 in Dumfries, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. She was born 16 Feb 1851 in Dumfries, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. Robert was a baker. They lived in Lochmaben, Dumfriesshire, Scotland.
