Hellen WILSON was born at
Bush, a farm near Hightae, Dumfriesshire, Scotland 4 Nov 1814.
Helen died 22 Mar 1855. Her body was interred in Oak Hill Cemetery,
Decatur Road, Springfield, IL.
She married John WRIGHT in Lochmaben, Dumfriesshire, Scotland,
24 Jun 1831. John was born in Hightae, Dumfriesshire, Scotland
23 Nov 1805, the son of Joseph WRIGHT and Elizabeth SMITH.
He died 19 May 1852 in Clear Lake Twp, Sangamon Co, IL. His body
was interred in Oak Hill Cemetery, Decatur Road, Springfield,
IL.

When the Wilson and Wright families immigrated to Sangamon
County, they lived with Thomas Richardson for the first two or
three months. Then John Wright bought a farm from Wm B. Ide a
Morman preacher, 280 acres about 200 prairie and 80 timber. He
paid about $4.50 an acre, about 150 acres were under fence and
nearly all in cultivation. There were two cabins on the farm,
not very fine buildings but tolerable comfortable and we felt
well satisfied when we moved into them. The Wilsons and Wrights
lived together for about three years. John Wright and James Wilson
were slow to adopt the customs of the country, everything was
so different from what they had been used to. John was not very
old but James was near 60 years old.
In 1852 John Wright died under very distressing circumstances.
He went out in the morning before breakfast. It was thought to
hunt a young horse that was out on the range. All stock at that
time was turned out on the commons. When he did not return during
the day the family became alarmed and notified the neighbors
and they commenced to search for him. In two days, he was found
dead about one half mile from his house. He died a natural death.
From appearances it was supposed death was caused by cramp colic.
His widow, Nellie, died in the year 1855 with typhoid fever.

COOPER 1867. Priscilla was born in Williams Twp, Sangamon
Co, IL 30 Nov 1842, the daughter of James Witcher COOPER
and Zerilda TAYLOR. Priscilla died 25 Oct 1903 in Riverton,
Sangamon Co, IL. Her body was interred in Oak Hill Cemetery,
Decatur Road, Springfield, IL. James' occupation: Farmer. James
and Priscilla had twelve children.

John L. WRIGHT was born
in Hightae, Dumfriesshire, Scotland 1 Aug 1838. John died 20
Apr 1889 in Sangamon Co, IL. His body was interred in Taylor
Cemetery, Sangamon Co, IL. He married Margaret J. TAYLOR.
Margaret was born in Williams Twp, Sangamon Co, IL 9 Dec 1843,
the daughter of James S. TAYLOR and Sarah HALBERT.
Margaret died 4 Apr 1922 in Williamsville, Sangamon Co, IL. Her
body was interred in Taylor Cemetery, Sangamon Co, IL. John's
occupation: Farmer. John and Margaret had five children.

Walter W. WRIGHT was born

son, born on 23 May 1847, was given the same name, this Walter
is assumed to be deceased before 1847.

Aug 1929 in Illiopolis, Sangamon Co, IL. His body was interred

E. SIMPSON near Niantic, Macon Co, IL, 25 Mar 1873. Catherine
was born in St. Clair Co, IL 26 Nov 1849. Catherine died 6 Dec
1904 in Illiopolis Twp, Sangamon Co, IL. Her body was interred
in Riverside Cemetery, Sangamon Co, IL. Thomas' occupation: Farmer.
He was listed as a resident in the census report in Illiopolis

02 Feb 1927 in Mt. Pulaski Cemetery, Mt. Pulaski, Logan Co, IL.
Jane and George had three children. Jane's sister, Lillias, married
George's brother, William.

was born in Riverton, Sangamon Co, IL 23 May 1847. Walter died
6 Dec 1908 in Riverton, Sangamon Co, IL. His body was interred

Susan C. COOPER 28 Feb 1876. Susan was born in Sherman,
Sangamon Co, IL, the daughter of David COOPER and Juliet
WITHROW. Susan died 13 Feb 1947 in Lincoln, Logan Co,
IL. Her body was interred in Oak Hill Cemetery, Decatur Road,
Springfield, IL. Walter's occupation: Farmer. Walter and Susan
had five children.
